What is a home study?

The Florida adoption home study is our specialty and is the first step and beginning of any adoption.

There are different requirements for adopting domestically or internationally, and international requirements can vary depending upon the specific country. Generally, home studies require a visit between a social worker and the prospective adoptive parents. While this visit takes place in the parents’ home, fear not! This is not a white-glove inspection of your home! We expect your home to be “lived-in.” We’re mainly looking to assure that the home is a safe environment and that you have sufficient room for your future child. Your social worker will then prepare a written report with an adoption recommendation for the prospective parents. Most Florida adoption home studies are completed within 30 days , but to accommodate wonderful last-minute surprises, we offer expedited services.
